Q: What is Online Banking?
A: Online Banking is a tool that allows you to use a personal computer with an Internet connection to conduct your banking online.

Q: What can I do with Online Banking?
A: You can view account balances and transaction history, transfer money, and download transactions to a personal financial manager and much more.

Q: How current is my banking information?
A: Your account information is updated periodically throughout every business day with new transactions that post to your account as they become available to us.

Q: What accounts will I be able to access through Online Banking?
A: You can access your checking, savings, investment and loan accounts from the Online Banking service after we add each account for such access.  Our Online Banking product is intended to give you as much access, security, and versatility as possible.  You can also use our Money Management tool, an application located in Online and Mobile banking, to view all of your accounts and transactions from other financial institutions.  Our Money Management tool can help you manage your financial portfolio in a centralized place.  Everything from your credit card spending habits to your budget, to your net worth can be viewed here.

Q: How much account information can I view at once?
A: The system will automatically show the current month's transactions and information. However, by selecting your specific preferences, you can choose to view the current month, the last 30 days of transactions, or up to two years of past transactions.

Q: Can I view my account details in more than one way?
A: Yes, you can view your accounts by date, check number, payee, amount or balance in ascending or descending order.

Q: What formats can I download my transaction history in?
A: Online Banking supports downloads to Excel™ (.csv), OFX™, Quicken™ (.qfx), Quickbooks™ (.qbo).

Q: Can I schedule future transfers?
A: Yes! You can schedule open, future and recurring transfers.

Q: When can I use Online Banking services?
A: With Online Banking, you have access to your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Q: How long can I be inactive before being logged out of the Online Banking product?
A: The inactivity time out is set for 10 minutes.

Q: What is required to use the Online Banking service?
A: All you need to use Online Banking is an up-to-date secure browser, such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Safari.  Need more information on browser setup?  Click here.

Q: How do I access Online Banking?
A: You must first complete the Online Banking Registration Form and submit it to us. This can be completed through our website or mobile app.  Once your registration is received, we will process your request.  It generally takes one business day for your application to be approved and authorized before you are able to log in.  You must have an existing checking, savings, investment, or loan account before banking online.

Q: Can I create my own password that is easy for me to remember?
A: Yes, when you register you will create your own password.  HSB does suggest that you do NOT allow your computer to remember or auto fill in your password(s) and that you avoid using things such as "password" or "123456" as your password.

Q: What happens if I forget or lose my password?
A: Just call us, during banking hours, and we will take you through the steps needed to get back into the system.  You may also use the "Forgot Password" feature in combination with your Challenge Questions to reset your password.

Q: After I type my user name and password it sends a code to verify who is logging in.  Do I have to use multi-factor authentication for Online Banking?
A: Yes, but not every time.  As long as you only set one device as your personal primary device, you will only be prompted for multi-factor authentication the first time.  However, if you use multiple devices to log in, and a mobile phone would count as a differnt device, you will be prompted with multi-factor authentication.

Q: What is multi-factor authentication?
A: Multi-factor authentication is an electronic authentication method in which a user is granted access to a website or application only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence to an authentication mechanism.  With Online Banking, our second form of verification may be an email or phone code or time-based one-time password (TOTP) with an authentication app.  You get to choose what your second form of verification is.  However, we recommend TOTP as it is the most secure form of verification.
