HSB 2023 Scholarship Winners

5/25/23 - Henderson State Bank has been busy presenting scholarships to its local seniors.  Every year we award scholarships to local students at each of our four locations. 

Giltner branch, Giltner State Bank (a branch of Henderson State Bank) – We awarded two $1000 Scholarships to Giltner Public School Graduates, Addison Wilson and Caleb Schrock-Schmitt.

Greeley branch – Our Greeley branch supports multiple school districts and honored students from both Central Valley Public Schools and Riverside Public Schools at their graduations.  Taya Engel and Kennady Holley were our scholarship recipients from Central Valley Public Schools and Theodore Hemmingsen and Madeline Thober were our recipients from Riverside Public Schools.  All were awarded $1000 scholarships.

Henderson branch – During the Heartland Community School’s Awards Night eight seniors were awarded scholarships.  Tucker Bergen, Eloise Casper, Riley Goertzen, Ruby Kliewer, Madelyn Maltsberger, Wyatt Panko, Zachariah Quiring each received a $1,250 scholarship (pictured).  Cole Miller was awarded the Southeast Community College Lean to Dream Scholarship.

York branches – Three scholarships were awarded to local York High School seniors.  Marshall McCarthy, Andrew Van Gomple, and Christina Hallisey were all given $1,250 scholarships.

Henderson State Bank's 80th Anniversary

5/24/23 - As our bank celebrates its 80^th anniversary, it is important to reflect on the journey that brought us to this milestone.  From humble beginnings in a small town to a respected financial institution with multiple locations.  Our bank has come a long way in the past eight decades.

Founded in 1943, our bank started as a small community bank in the heart of downtown Henderson.  Over the years, we have expanded to several branches across Nebraska, offering a wide range of financial products and services to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

Throughout our history, our bank has maintained its commitment to excellent service, with a focus on building long-lasting relationships with our customers.  We have always strived to provide personalized solutions that meet the unique needs of each customer, whether they are an individual, a small business, or a large corporation.

To celebrate this significant milestone, our bank is hosting trivia questions on facebook, inviting everyone to participate and win an exciting prize.  The trivia questions will test the knowledge of our bank’s history, as well as U.S. history, and there will be weekly winners so make sure to keep participating.

As we look ahead to the next eight decades, our bank remains committed to providing exceptional service and value to our customers.  We will continue to focus on innovation and growth, while never losing sight of the values that have made us successful.

Henderson State Bank Pledges $100k Toward Henderson Health Care Capital Campaign

HENDERSON, Neb. – A generous donation from Henderson State Bank has helped Henderson Health Care kick off a capital campaign for their $15 million Surgery/Hospital Expansion & Renovation project.

On January 25, 2023, Henderson State Back President, Kevin Postier, and Executive Vice President, J.B. Suddarth, presented Henderson Health Care CEO, Cheryl Brown, with a check for $80,000, the first installment of their $100,000 donation.

Brown said, “Henderson Health Care continues to be blessed by the generosity of community members and businesses we have relationships with. Building and maintaining strong, authentic relationships is a priority to us. As we provide care to you and your loved ones, we want you to know this is personal to us as well. We continue our mission to bring the highest quality of healthcare to rural Nebraska with our campus renovation and new construction projects. A special thank you to Henderson State Bank for kicking off our capital campaign with such a generous contribution!”

Postier added, “Through the $100,000 gift committed to the HHC capital campaign, Henderson State Bank is excited to participate in helping the facility to modernize its operations, expand its Specialty Clinic services and continue to provide excellent healthcare options for Henderson and the surrounding trade territory. It is the goal of HSB to continue to work with HHC in a mutually beneficial relationship to further strengthen the Henderson business community.”

Henderson State Bank has been a major proponent of Henderson Health Care’s capital campaigns for many years. Most recently in 2018, they donated $100,000 toward the construction of Legacy Square – a 40-bed, 36,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art long term care facility.

Henderson Health Care anticipates the occupancy of their new surgical suite, equipped with an orthopedic operating room, state-of-the-art surgery/endoscope procedure room, four pre/postoperative bays, and two post-anesthesia care units, in late fall of 2023.
